The Buzz is a new program for young adults 16 to 26 living with mental illness. The idea is to explore creativity. One does not need to have any experience. Its just a way to get together with peers in a safe, non judgemental environment. We do something creative and relax over refreshments (see the section on the website www.pleo.on.ca under Young Adult programs)
We have changed the time and location of this program to Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 pm and it is held in the church hall at Church of the Ascension at 253 Echo Drive (right next to Immaculata High School). Advanced registration is required - the form is on the website www.pleo.on.ca

Once again this year, through the generosity of Cheryl Poulin www.earmark-decorative-studio.com and her band of industrious and generous artist and crafters we have amazing items to sell. There are handpainted inspirational plaques and christmas ornaments as well as handmade cards. All the proceeds from the sales go directly to PLEO's young adult programs.
We will be in the cafeteria at CHEO on Tuesday Dec 8 and Wednesday December 9 and at the Seniors Craft Sale in the Jean Piggot Room at City Hall Thursday December 10. Please come out and buy some of these handmade items and directly support our young people.

Depression is a disorder with multiple symptoms including bodily, affective, cognitive and self changes. Imaging studies reveal changes in the resting state activity and neural systems underlying interoceptive awareness. This will reveal the neuronal mechanisms underlying the above described symptoms. Most importantly, this will have predictive relevance for both diagnosis and therapy of depression.

The meeting is for all parents and caregivers helping their child, youth or young adult living with mental health issues. Come for support, come to give support - or both. You are not alone. Share the journey with others who understand. We are not professionals - just a group of parents supporting each other.
