Achievements
We are proud to say that we have achieved the following:
- Operate and facilitate monthly family support meetings since 2000
- Initiated and manage a Young Adult Peer Support Group called The Source since 2005
- Introduced and manage a Young Adult Creative Group called the Buzz launching Sept 2010
- Have gained recognition within the mental health community as a credible "family voice"
- Contributed to the emental health website providing a stong navigation tool for families
- Developed the PLEO website to provide information and support to families and to assist with navigation through the mental health community
- Provide telephone support to families since 2000
- Supported the ROMHC awareness campaign
- Have been featured in magazines and newspapers
- Participated in the mental health delivery restructuring evaluation
- Publish monthly newsletter
- Participated in the 2003 Mental Health Fair at the ROH
- Delivered a Six-Week educational series for families in 2003
- Partnered with the PRC to host the 2004 Family conference
- Launched the Raking Leaves fundraising campaign to raise money for our young adult programs
- Annually participate in the Mind Block presentation to Med Students
- Represented on the Reference Group for the Provincial Centre of Excellence for Children and Youth Mental Health
- Presented the family perspective on Early Intervention to the Kirby Commission on Mental Health
- Collaborated with YouthNet on the development and production of the Inspiration fused glass art piece, now used as the Inspiration Award at the ROMH Foundation Inspiration Awards Gala
